Fare payment
Any of our fare products can be used for CTA services, with the exception of senior passes. For details on our current fares, visit our Fares and Passes page.
Seniors
Because Calgary Transit senior passes are heavily discounted, we are unable to accept either regular or low-income annual seniors passes for CTA service. If you are a senior who uses an adult low-income monthly pass to travel with CTA, you may be eligible for an Annual Adult Low-Income Transit Pass, which allows you to use one pass for up to a full year, without having to visit one of our customer service centres in person every month.
To be eligible for this pass, you must meet the following criteria:
- Senior – at least 65 years old, and
- Eligible for the monthly low-income transit pass, and
- Considered a permanent customer by Calgary Transit Access
Here’s how it works:
- Visit one of our customer service centres and request an Annual Low-Income Transit Pass.
- You’ll be charged the cost for a full year of your Low-Income Transit Pass*:
- Band A $70.80 (12 months x $5.90)
- Band B $495.60 (12 months x $41.30)
- Band C $708.00 (12 months x $59.00)
*This amount will be prorated depending on when you buy your pass. For example, if you buy your pass four months before your fair entry program expires, you’ll be charged for four months. When you reapply for Fair Entry, you will have the opportunity to purchase a pass for the full 12 months.
You can use your Annual Low-Income Transit Pass for all Calgary Transit services until it expires.
